The Honor Magic 7 Pro is a fantastic smartphone with impressive cameras, a phenomenal display and top-end performance, but it’s a bit of an iterative upgrade on last year’s Magic 6 Pro, relying instead on AI to bolster the offering – and that’s a bit of a gamble.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro is undoubtedly a great Android flagship. It builds upon the success of the Magic 6 Pro, with improvements in the chipset, telephoto camera, and the addition of even more AI features. It also brings some very interesting eye protection technology to the global audience.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro aims to impress in every area. It has one of the nicest screens around, top-notch performance, a huge battery, super-fast charging, and impressive cameras. It also boasts some unique software and AI capabilities. If you're looking for an Android handset that can do everything, this is a great option. It's not perfect, but with some tweaks, it might come close.

A flagship with styling, screen and power to rival the class best. Divisive processing and AI zoom aside, the Honor Magic 7 Pro is also a wonderfully capable camera phone.

Other than a bundled charger and minor inconsistencies with the cameras, I don't have anything to fault with the device.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro gives you a powerhouse of a device that proves beauty isn't skin-deep. It's not as functional as dedicated gaming smartphones in certain aspects - the lack of a 3.5mm jack, cooling system, and grippy-ness, to name a few - but with its long-lasting battery and software that can handle all the high specs, you might not even need a separate gaming phone in the first place.

Overall, this is an accomplished flagship smartphone, capable of competing with the best Android phones. It is powerful and precise, sometimes even prescient, and delightfully devoid of significant flaws. Quality rarely comes cheap, but Honor delivers plenty for your money with the Magic 7 Pro, even at £1,099. It’s an impressive bag of tricks, and if you’re reading this close to the release date, you may be able to snag freebies or money off with the early bird discount.
