Technics EAH-AZ100

This is one of the bigger generational leaps I've experienced while testing earbuds or headphones – the AZ100 are tangibly better than the AZ80 in every way. They sound excellent, look much better, solve the battery life issue and upgrade active noise-cancelling (ANC) to make for a pretty complete package. An easy 5-star recommendation that's outside the normal headline-hitters from Sony, Bose, et al.

The Technics AZ100 is a well-thought-out, friendly pair of premium wireless earbuds that deliver an impressive and likeable performance. Sony and Bose should be worried.

The AZ100 are a sizeable update from their predecessors. The design hasn’t lost any of its convenience, yet Technics has still somehow managed to shed noticeable grams from both the case and the earbuds. More impressive is the sonic performance, which takes the latest Technics noise-cancellers to a whole new level.

In pretty much every respect, the Technics EAH-AZ100 make a strong case for themselves. They look and feel excellent, their control options are great, comfort is impressive, and they sound engagingly musical. Unless you value stellar battery life or bubble-of-silence noise-cancellation above actual sound quality, the EAH-AZ100 are the real deal.

A more nuanced and engaging take on Technics’ already well-rounded wireless earbuds. The EAH-AZ100 are a treat for the ears, with competitive noise cancelling and lots of features.
