In a nutshell: Microsoft has introduced Intel-powered versions of its Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11, designed specifically with business customers in mind. Now, users can choose between Intel and Qualcomm when selecting their next Copilot+ PC from Microsoft.

The new Surface Laptop 7 features Intel's latest processor (up to a Core Ultra 7 268V) alongside Intel Arc Graphics and up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory. It is offered with your choice of 13.8-inch or 15-inch touchscreen display coated in Gorilla Glass 5, and can be configured with up to a 1TB solid state drive.

Battery life is rated at up to 12 hours of active web usage on the smaller machine and up to 14 hours on the 15-inch model. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed – a given considering Windows 10 will reach end-of-life status later this year.

The Surface Pro 11, meanwhile, can also be configured with up to a Core Ultra 7 268V, which affords 48 TOPS of AI performance. It, too, can be outfitted with either 16GB or 32GB of memory, up to a 1TB SSD, and runs Intel Arc Graphics. Buyers can choose between either an LCD or OLED screen – both of which measure 13 inches diagonally – and will have up to 10 hours of battery life on tap per charge.

Microsoft's new Surface Pro 11 doesn't come with a keyboard, but is compatible with several boards from the company.

There's hardly any difference between the Intel and Qualcomm-powered variants other than the processor, battery life, and price points. Port selection is mostly the same, the display options are identical, and so, too, are the RAM and storage options.

Those seeking an Intel-powered Surface will pay a premium for the opportunity. The new Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 for business will start at $1,499.99, respectively, when they go on sale February 18, which includes a one-year limited hardware warranty. For comparison, the Qualcomm-based Surface variants start at just $1,099.99.
